The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has established its 2^nd Regional Centre in Tamil Nadu at Madurai on 18^th January 2008 in order to expand its services and to coordinate with the Learner Support Centres in the 19 districts viz. Ariyalur, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Erode, Karur, Madurai, Nilgiris, Pudukkottai, Ramnad, Sivagangai, Tenkasi, Thanjavur, Theni, Tirunelveli, Tirupur, Tiruvarur, Trichy, Tuticorin & Virudhunagar.
